Cass Lake

Musky action is starting to pick up more and more each day. Pretty much any kind of lure is producing fish. A lot of the cabbage beds still look kind of brown and worthless but if you find some good green stuff you will find Esox! Big pike have been very slow for my boat though. Not sure why, could be the surplus of baitfish around.
Walleye fishing has been very up and down. Catching fish in anywhere from 12-20 feet on the steep breaks. You just have to seek and destroy and once you locate a good school of fish try to keep a close tabs on their movement. We have been catching our fish on cranks and nightcrawlers. Jumbo perch have been similar to the walleye. Some of the time they are committing suicide and you can fill out, next day they are full of mayflies. Most of our perch action has been on the sand flats in 5-11 feet of water.
Water temps are now in the 70 degree range and the lake has dropped about 6 inches.
