Leech Lake Fishing Report
Jeff Kemp
July 25, 2008
Fishing on leech continues to be productive. Look for walleyes on bars and shoreline breaks in 20' of water. Bottom bouncers and crawlers have been the most productive, but lindy's and leeches or jigs and minnows are also boating fish. The trolling bite is also good in the evening with shad raps and minnow raps in 8-12' of water.
Muskies have slowed down some from a couple weeks ago. There have been reports of fish following baits, but not many actually striking. Look for a consistent weather pattern to turn them back on in the weeks yet to come. Bass fishing is still great on the lake. Use black worms in shallow water near sharp breaks and weeds.
